1. Lake Highland Prep (6-4)
Previous Rank: #3
Week 11 result : beat Bishop Moore 14-7
Comments: After losing its star running back, Johnathan Moment in week 8 and then losing a critical district game to Mount Dora, the Highlanders finished strong, beating Umatilla and Bishop Moore in the final two weeks of the season. The Highlanders were young this year and faced many injuries to key players. However, the young squad finished strong and finishes the season at the top of the poll boasting wins over Pine Castle and Bishop Moore. |

2. Pine Castle (8-2)
Previous Rank: #2
Week 11 result : beat First Academy 23-21
Comments: The Eagles held the top spot briefly but Lake Highland's win over Bishop Moore solidified the Highlanders' right to finish at the top. Pine Castle started the season 0-2 but finished with eight straight wins including a week 11 win over its rival First Academy. The Eagles battled through many injuries yet still went undefeated in their district and made the playoffs for the second straight season. |
|
3. First Academy (7-3)
Previous Rank: #2
Week 11 result : lost Pine Castle 23-21
Comments: First Academy's four game win streak came to a halt in week 11 as the Royals lost a heart breaker to their rival Pine Castle. First Academy still accomplished a lot this season, going undefeated in its district despite facing the challenge of moving up in classification. The Royals have now won seven or more games and made the playoffs for four straight seasons. |

4. Orangewood Christian (6-3)
Previous Rank: #8
Week 11 result: beat CFCA 37-24
Comments: Orangewood quietly had a fantastic regular season. The Rams not only went undefeated in district play, they didn't allow a single point to any of their four district opponents outscoring them 127-0. Orangewood finished the season on a four game winning streak and gained a playoff berth for the first time in school history. |
|
5. Trinity Prep (4-6)
Previous Rank: #5
Week 11 result: Open
Comments: Trinity Prep had a disappointing season, winning just four games with only one district victory, a year after finishing 8-2. The Saints did beat Orangewood, but failed to win the important games on their schedule. Trinity Prep will return a handful of key players keeping hope alive for 2008. |
|
6. Master's Academy (7-3)
Previous Rank: #7
Week 11 result : beat Pierson Taylor 22-16
Comments: The Eagles had their best season in school history, winning seven games and advancing to the playoffs. Master's did have some bumps in the road along the way, losing for the first time to Orangewood in a district title game, and suffering a big blow (52-6) in a loss to Keswick Christian. In the end, Master's Academy put together a great season thanks in large part to a balanced offense. |
|
7. Agape Christian (3-7)
Previous Rank: #5
Week 11 result: Open
Comments: Agape was much better than its record indicates. The Saints played a brutal schedule, but in the end came just 4 points shy of a playoff berth. Agape's season was highlighted by a convincing win over Santa Fe Catholic, and close losses to Pine Castle and Victory Christian earned the Saints some respect. |
|
8. Jones (1-9)
Previous Rank: #4
Week 11 result : lost to Oak Ridge 36-0
Comments: Jones played the toughest schedule of any local small school. But the Tigers dropped to #8 in the rankings with a poor showing down the stretch. After beating up on Umatilla for their only win, and then playing very well against Bishop Moore, the Tigers followed by losing three key district games and a rivalry game by a combined score of 127-12. |
|
9. West Oaks Academy (4-6)
Previous Rank: #9
Week 11 Result : Open
Comments: West Oaks was up and down throughout the season. The Flames looked great, beating Orangewood and Agape, but then suffered blowout losses to Victory and Pine Castle, and let a key game against Santa Fe Catholic slip away, despite having a comfortable lead. Overall, West Oaks looked promising and project to be a dangerous team again in 2008. |
|
10. Lake Mary Prep (4-6)
Previous Rank: #10
Week 11 result: Open
Comments: Lake Mary Prep had a phenominal season, finishing with the best record in school history. The Griffins entered the season on a 21 game losing streak but turned things around quickly this season. Lake Mary Prep had a season of firsts, with its first multi-win season, first ever road win and first ever district win. |
