FNF To Undergo Changes In 2008

In 2002, Charles King had the idea of putting a staff together to bring live radio coverage of high school football to the Orlando area. After a successful inaugural season, FNF continued to grow under the direction of Charles by adding the highly popular website. Year 3 brought further growth with the addition of FNF-TV. After six tremendous seasons, including radio, TV, and web coverage like none other in the area, Charles will be leaving Friday Night Football. He has accepted a position with the Orlando Sentinel to cover varsity sports, effective January 2nd.

We’re not sure at this time what this means for the FNF staff, the website and the radio broadcast. While we’re hopeful that Friday Night Football can continue in some sort of capacity, without Charles’ vast knowledge, contacts and relationships he has helped to build in our six seasons, that task will be difficult. The website (and message boards) will remain up until the beginning of the 2008 football season, although content may be limited between now and then. As we learn more about our future, more information will be posted.

We know that the Sentinel has gained a valuable asset in Charles. If this is indeed the end of FNF, Charles and his staff at the Sentinel will hopefully bring a level of coverage of football and other high school sports that you have come to expect in the last six years.

On behalf of the entire FNF staff, thank you to all who have supported Friday Night Football over the years.
