Each of the 40 schools in our coverage area had the opportunity to nominate one senior cheerleader and one senior football player for McDonald's Student Athlete scholarship. Thirteen cheerleaders and thirteen football players were selected as finalists for two $1,000 scholarships. The 2006 winners were Ocoee's Adam Flanigan and Freedom's Caitlin Hill.
